Pool balancing
Balancing your pool involves maintaining the right levels of pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness to ensure safe and pleasant swimming conditions. Ideally, keep the pH between 7.2 and 7.8, as this range is comfortable for swimmers and helps prevent equipment damage. Total alkalinity should be between 80-120 ppm, stabilizing pH levels, while calcium hardness should be maintained at 200-400 ppm to prevent scale formation and corrosion. Regular testing with a reliable pool water test kit is essential, and adjustments can be made using pool chemicals to achieve these balances. Properly balanced water not only enhances swimmer comfort but also protects your pool’s infrastructure and increases the efficiency of chlorine and other sanitizers.
